Garrick Sinclair “Ricky” Beckett was born on January 31, 1990 and resides in Canton, Michigan. He’s a U.S. Army veteran and was honourably discharged as a professional saxophonist in the Army Bands. Currently, he’s attending Concordia University-Ann Arbor in the Pre-Seminary programme with a major in Christian Thought and a minor in Theological Languages. Upon graduating in May 2017, he plans on attending the LCMS seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Ever since he learnt how to write, Ricky has always loved writing. He started with writing short stories, to poetry, to running this blog, Sheep of Christ. While his primary audience for this blog are Lutherans, he invites all Christians to read what he writes because his primary intent is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In his plans to become a Lutheran pastor, Ricky’s desire is to use the gift of writing that God’s given him to write about the Gospel and reach as many people as he can by using this gift. He not only utilises this gift on Sheep of Christ, but he also writes for Geeks Under Grace as one of their writers for Christian Living. Geeks Under Grace is an online community that attempts to reach Christian geeks with the Gospel and teach them how to appropriately interact with pop culture as Christians. Besides writing, Ricky also enjoys doing photography to capture God’s glory in creation; and as a geek, he enjoys playing video games.
Psalm 100:3, Know that the LORD is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
